Camping at Birch Bay

About ten families from our Seattle Homeschool Group went camping last weekend at Birch Bay State Park. We enjoyed warm weather, nicely shaded campsites, card games, field games, music, and breezy walks along the beach. Can you tell I was glad for the shade and the breeze?

Strawberries

It's finally strawberry season here in the Pacific Northwest. Last week, I cycled to the farmers market to buy our first flat. It was fun to strap it to the top of the Xtracycle while cushioning the other fruit in the side loaders.

Then today we went with a few friends to pick strawberries at Broers Farms in Monroe. Together Ben and I picked two flats, about 28 pounds total. They're delicious. Hooray for local produce!

Welcome to Summer

Hello, and welcome to my new blog. As spring has meandered toward summer, I've been playing in the garden more and more. I've been taking photos of newly sprouting plants and growing parts of the landscape all around the yard. Here's a pretty picture of some foxglove that's blooming right now.
