Happy Bees

The bees were buzzing all around the Allegro Oriental poppies today.

The Rozanne hardy geraniums are just starting to blossom, and the bees love them!

So many blossoms to choose from!

Plums and Pears and Peaches, Oh My!

Italian plums!  It's the first year this young tree has produced fruit, and they're looking wonderful!  There were many more plums than this all clustered together, but I made myself thin them.  Such a difficult thing to do!

Our Hollywood plum tree is loaded with fruit this year.  It's been a while since producing so well.   I pruned it hard earlier this spring, and even thinned a good portion of the plums for air and light circulation. 

We're looking forward to indulging in these delicious summer fruits!

Frost peach!
This is the largest peach so far, but there are several more on the outer branches.

First year, first bloom

ORANGE!

The orange Oriental poppies are in full bloom!

They're especially glorious in the sunlight. 

I love the delicately crinkled petals.

New flowers emerge daily.

 

The poppies are surrounded by foxglove and phlox that will show their colors later in the season.

Soon there will be more poppies, and just beyond them, lovely white daisies!

We have lots of flowering berry plants right now, and soon they'll be producing luscious summer fruits!
